Shota Imanaga is the best pitcher in the league. He's 5-0 with an earned run average of 0.78. Many people doubted whether he would succeed at the MLB level before the season, but he is proving those doubters wrong by showing that a pitcher doesn't need to throw 100 mph to be effective. In Japan, he was known as the pitching philosopher. He's claimed the spot as the Cubs' ace.
Imanaga is the league's leader in ERA. He's just been on point. He's like a musician on the mound playing beautiful music. He's simply dominating, and beautiful to watch.
Shota's countryman, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, is also red hot. In 7 starts, he's put 4 zeros on the board for at least five innings in those starts. In the last 2 starts, Yoshi has also pitched shutouts, going for 6 innings and allowing no runs on the board, lowering his ERA to 2.91. Not as good as Imanaga's of 0.78, but things are starting to normalize for Yamamoto. He's getting comfortable. And, the Dodgers are finally seeing Yamamoto as himself.
